First Queens Church Women’s Conference

My heart for the Women’s Ministry of Queens Church is that we may we be women who ABIDE, who DWELL, who REMAIN in Christ. Women who chase after Jesus and spur one another towards love. A place where ALL are welcome and there is a sense of belonging and acceptance. A place of hospitality where we are quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. A group of women who get in God’s Word, who pray with passion, who prioritize rest and are committed to one another. Women who seek out others to bring them along, who live simply in order to be generous, who pursue wholeness, holiness, justice and peace as they walk with Jesus. A group of women who REFLECT Jesus.

Women’s Conference Through the Years…

7 years ago, I made a last minute decision to join a team from Houston’s First Baptist Church that was headed to serve a church plant in Queen's, New York . I fell in love with the city and the people. I thought my partnership with this church would be from afar, but God had other plans. You can read more of my story timeline here!

Through many years of building relationships and bold prayers, I made the move on August 31, 2022 to Queens, NY to serve with Queens Church. I love how God weaves and this was definitely His hand, His leading, and His guiding.

I've been asked to join the church planting team at Queens Church as the Director of Women’s Ministry. My goal will be to connect with the dozens of women who are already attending in order to facilitate discipleship and multiply their engagement in the city. Because of the makeup of this church plant, this is an unpaid position, so I will be working bi-vocationally to support myself.

When I began at Queens Church, I was in more of a part-time role working 15-20 hours. Over the past year and a half, I have seen the need for more of my time to be dedicated to Queens Church Women’s Ministry and Queens Church as a whole. We are continuing to grow weekly, and I want to be able to have more margin for the women of QC. I will still remain bi-vocational as it is just so expensive to live her, but will shift my time to be heavier on the Queens Church side. I am looking to raise $54,000/year for the next 3 years from ministry partners who would commit to joining this work alongside me. 2. What is the relationship between Queen's Church and Houston's First Baptist Church?

Queens Church is one of the mission partners of HFBC. We have been receiving mission teams, financial support, and prayer for 4 years.

3. What will be your role at Queen's Church?

I began as a women’s ministry intern, but after 6 months, moved into the role of Director of Women’s Ministry. On a weekly basis, I meet with a small group of women every Thursday morning for what we have named “Coffee and Convo.” Each week I also try and setup a coffee or breakfast/lunch with different women in our church. I lead our Women’s Space the first Tuesday of every month. Each month looks a little different but every month we get in God’s Word, we pray with one another, and of course, we eat together. I will also oversee our Women’s Conference which is held every April. Looking ahead, I am hoping to develop a discipleship/mentor program for our women who are desiring to go deeper and grow in their personal walk with Jesus.
